Due to my deep admiration for Japanese culture and the numerous fascinating sites in Japan, I felt a strong urge to design a token that would symbolize this connection. As I prepared for my third and final Olympic Games, I aspired to create something truly remarkable. Building on the success and physical prowess I achieved in 2019, the stage was set for me to achieve my dream. I envisioned clinching my third Olympic title, setting a new world record in my favorite city, and retiring at the pinnacle of my career. Similar to the intricate art of Sumi-e, these masterpieces do not come into being by chance. Each brushstroke, the choice of paper, meticulous planning and outlining, and the use of a specific brush are all crucial. Similarly, every single detail leading up to these Games was meticulously planned, leaving no stone unturned.
