Nike has a passion for storytelling, and that spirit was reflected in every pair of spikes created by the Innovation/Builder Lab. The team sought opportunities to showcase the beauty of color, sound and different materials using techniques involving heat, light, and textures, subtly or obviously connected to my love for the Gator Nation. It felt like I was competing in works of art that focused uniquely on sharing my story. This was an added source of inspiration, knowing that my leaps represented more than just my measured distance, but also the small milestones of my journey that led me to that moment.
